Workshop Tip & Usage

Before replacing the battery on Inspiron 15 or Latitude 3000 series, turn off the computer and unplug the AC power adapter. Remove the bottom cover screws and gently unclip the shell using a plastic spudger. Before any handling of the used component, imperatively disconnect the battery ribbon connector at the motherboard level. Be careful during reassembly: check that the battery interconnect cable is properly aligned in its guides without pinching under the chassis. During initial workshop commissioning, perform a full calibration cycle: charge the refurbished battery to 100% under mains power, then let the device discharge gradually down to about 10-15% before performing an uninterrupted recharge.
